Sunday's Big Announcement

Those of you who attended Tapestry yesterday heard the big news, and now I share it with the rest of you. Yesterday we announced that Josh Watson is leaving Tapestry Church and is heading to Florida.

Josh came to Tapestry as Family Ministries director back in July 2008, and over that time came to be one of my closest friends. 

But I'm so excited about the possibilities that await the Watsons in Orlando! Josh and Katie will be helping with Genesis Church, a church plant in Orlando committed to reaching people for Christ and making a difference in the world. I know all of you will join me in praying for the Watsons and for Genesis as they set out to do great things for God's kingdom.

As soon as they are settled, Josh will send me their new mailing address. They may even get to visit Tapestry during December if current plans hold up.

Thank you, Josh and Katie, for making Tapestry Church a better place, and God bless you in your new work in Orlando!

Here's a great big THANK YOU to all who helped us provide Thanksgiving meals for 24 families!

Andi Lannom - thanks for helping us get organized, coming up with the grocery list, and providing the bags and examples!

Thanks to ALL of you TCers and friends of Tapestry who bought the food to fill the bags! You were awesome!

Special thanks to the Cranes, Halls, Putmans, Temples and Watsons who spent a lot of time yesterday delivering the bags of food and turkeys to the families! These families were located from below Emerson and north to Rydal, west to Floyd County and east to the Cherokee County line. You were amazing to get the food in their hands no matter where they were!

24 families will now have a great Thanksgiving meal, all because of your love and sacrifice. Even more than that, they've been shown the love of Christ.

Wow. Again, THANK YOU!

This Sunday, "Voices" part 2

I just put the finishing touches on this Sunday's message, part 2 of "Voices." I'm extremely excited about this message, mainly because I've been so challenged this week by the topic. 

We said last week that "the voices you listen to will influence what you do." So very true. And there are lots of voices out there that lead us astray.

So what voices should we listen to? We'll talk about one of those this Sunday, 10am at Gold's Gym. It isn't too late to invite someone to come with you!
